Why am I getting my period every two weeks?

I have been getting my period every two weeks. Normally, my period comes about every 5 weeks, so I was really shocked when I suddenly got it again, two weeks later. At first i thought nothing of it, thinking that it could have been the stress I was dealing with. But then, two weeks later, I started my period again.

About two months ago i was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and have been taking medications for it. Could my irregular menstrual cycle be related to that?

I already have a doctor's appointment set up for next week, but I'm still a little concerned. What could be causing this?

It's important to keep in mind that not all episodes of vaginal bleeding should be considered a menstrual period. Medical issues such as uterine fibroids (benign growths in the uterus) can cause bleeding if they expand into blood vessels as they increase in size.

So can more serious tumor issues which is why it is good you are getting this looked into medically.

Your GAD has nothing to do with this bleeding nor are the medications you are taking causing this abnormal bleeding.
