Okay Jane anyways I saw my GYN today even though I had just seen him on tuesday because of severe vaginal swelling and pain compared to my apt. on tuesday it was testing for STD even though my boyfriend only went in about an inch and the condom was latex and broke I still wanted to get checked results are not back yet anyways he examined me today and couldn't believe I was so swollen and red he asked me if I tryed having sex again I said no it has only been two days sense I saw you. He didn't use a speculum just his hands he put his fingers inside and I jumped litterly almost back a foot. it hurt so bad I calmed down and he was able to get a good look in there to see yeast he also said I could have honeymoon cystitis because I have been peeing alot. Well he gave me 3 tabs of diflucan 150mg and said to come back in a week but he also gave me a vaginal dilater a small one and said to bring my boyfriend next time. He said to call on monday if I'm not better and probably come in. Well I went home and my boyfriend came over we wern't going to do anything but we did and he didn't have a condom at all he only got in less than an inch so we just played with each other he was rubbing my clitoris and it hurt so bad he stoped he was rubbing around there with his penis he told me had been with other women but had never gotten anything from them. He went home aftewords and I took a shower now I am cramping and having severe burning down there he didn't ejaculate either. So could I have a bladder infection should I go to the ER and get checked out. Could it already be a STD

Dear smjpain: I would really doubt any STD could arise so quickly. More likely the foreplay just exacerbated the inflammation which was already present. I would urge you to follow your GYN's plan of care. Take the medication, try the vaginal dilator, and take your boyfriend in to the next visit--avoid genital sexual activity until this inflammation can be improved.

If you did develop signs of a UTI you could either call your MD or consider the ER. It is also possible to have burning from yeast (it burns when the urine stream touches the skin) or from general mechanical trauma of attempted entry.

If you were given a dilator that suggests that the GYN is concerned about vaginismus. IF that is the case, women with this condition are often told to avoid attempting penetration too early in the treatment.

One last thought about the continued yeast infections. Studies have shown that women receiving oral sex have an increased risk of yeast. Using saliva for masturbation would theoretically carry a similar risk.

Yours,
Jane
