Jane Harrison Hohner, RN, RNP responded:
Dear An: So with your last pregnancy you had a bleed the week before (which could have been implantation bleeding), and a negative urine test (might have been too early to register as a positive). Currently your last bleed was two weeks ago, you have a negative test, and pregnancy type symptoms. Hope I am tracking you correctly!

Even if that last bleed was implantation bleeding you should be able to register a reliable result on a home pregnancy test two weeks later. The question then arises if your pregnancy test was giving you a false result. You could choose to redo the home test using one of the most sensitive home tests. Here is a link to a site with more information on home tests:

Alternatively you could choose to see your GYN or local family planning clinic for a urine test (or blood pregnancy test if indicated). The advantage in this option would be that a pelvic exam could be done and/or an evaluation of other possible causes of your nausea and other symptoms.

Yours,
Jane
