I'am 53 years old and my period dissapearer 18month ago. Just this week I started having really bad lower back pains and my period started again. Is this normal? thank you

No, this is not normal. It would appear that you have gone through menopause.

Keep in mind that while it is common to assume all episodes of vaginal bleeding are due to menstruation, there can be other medical reasons for this bleeding. The most common one in a woman who is post menopausal are uterine fibroids; benign growths in the uterus that can cause bleeding if they expand into blood vessels.

Of course, other more serious tumor issues can also cause bleeding which is why it is important you get this checked out medically.
