Very Concerned about Menstrual Cycle

Hello!

Looking for some advice here. My menstrual cycle has always been crazy since I first got it (11 years old). There have been times when I've skipped months (not pregnant) to having them for two weeks. I've gone to the doctor in the past where they suggested Endometriosis. My concern right now is that I have been bleeding on and off for three weeks now. There's no chance of pregnancy/miscarriage. The only other thing that might be causing this, which is doubtful, is I got in a bicycle accident and received bruising on my pelvic/ovary area. Along with Hematoma (which is now gone). Here's my other symptoms:
  • Bleeding off and on. Varies from light to heavy.
  • Cramping
  • Lining/clots (?) are coming out every once in awhile
  • Fatigue
When I get my period it's usually the beginning of the month. This last time it started to happen three weeks ago (7/30). It was fine, no cramping or heavy bleeding. Went away for a day or two. Starting up again, then was light, it started again when my "normal" period usually occurs. Then back to heavy bleeding/cramping (for the last week) but only when I am passing a clot. Other than those symptoms, I lead a very healthy and active lifestyle. When I do not have my period, I do not feel tired. I feel pretty darn good!

I have made an appointment with my General Med doctor. I am very concerned as a period has never lasted this long before. I would like to know what questions to ask HER in order to get some answers.

What could be the cause of this? What specific conditions have these symptoms? Do I ask for an ultrasound? Are there any for sure tests I can ask for?

Any information would help me out. I feel like sometimes doctors don't give you the correct answers unless you ask for specific information.

Although I am not familiar with your symptoms, I would strongly suggest going to see a gyno, or someone who specializes in those types of problems. You said you've talked to doctors about this before, but got nowhere right? I think you should skip the general practitioner, and go to someone who is more trained and focused in the area that you need. I too am having problems with my menstrual cycle, but not to the extent that you are. Best of luck to you! I hope you feel better soon, and find the answers you are looking for!
