pregnant in perimenopause?

went to my doctor for yearly checkup and she told me that I was in perimenopause. I asked her about birth control and she said I did not have to worry about it. Please tell me why everything I read you can get pregnant in perimenopause and she told me that? Please help me! do I believe her and dont worry about it?

Nope, I wouldn't believe her. If you are having periods, no matter how irregular, it usually means you are ovulating and if you are ovulating, you can get pregnant.
