Hi there! I started lipo 6 black hers yesterday! I take a birth control called gianvi. I didn't really do any research to see if the two reacted badly together. But so far I've been good! I really like the lipo 6, I use to be really tired and felt like I needed a map 100x a day. I don't drink coffee or any of that. But the lipo6 ha really boost my energy. I haven't weighed myself yet because it's only day two! But I've heard amazing results from it!! I only have about 20 more pounds to go. My starting weight was 224 at a size 18 jeans and I am now 168 and at a size 13-14 jeans. I want to get to about 140. I just joined the navy, I know boot camp will help with the extra pounds but I've had these personal goals before I even thought about joining military. So I wanna get there!! I use to do insanity and I lost 20lbs with that. I hate going to the gym and just like doing the boring treadmill routine which is why I'm more of a at home work out person. I have like almost all the beach body programs. They really work and you don't plateau like you do at the gym because most of them are interval training AND something different every day!! Give it a shot? If ya hear anything bad about BC and LIPO 6 let me know!!!

Dear blueeyedbaby: You rock for having achieved so much from all kinds of exercise. It's great to hear that and to get your personal experience concerning the different home exercise programs available. I think you are correct, boot camp (the real kind associated with joining the Navy) will finish your goals and build major muscle.

Do "fat burners" interfere with birth control pills (BCPs)?
In a survey of over 1,000 Italian women, 46% stated that they combined various "natural" or herbal products with prescriptive medications (including birth control pills/BCPs). Yet data suggesting that certain herbs interact with BCPs is not apparent. The one exception is the well known effects of St John's Wort in decreasing the levels of birth control pill hormones.

Grapefruit juice taken at the same time as natural estrogen and progesterone (i.e. postmenopausal hormone therapy) can increase the levels of the hormones (Fingerova, 2003). This has not been studied in BCP users, nor has it been studied with citrus naringin used in some fat burning products to prolong the effects of caffeine.

Hoffman (2006) included women using birth control pills in a study of caffeine combined with bitter orange and garcinia/hydroxycitric acid. No mention was made of problems among the birth control pill users, but the numbers are small.

I could not find any case reports suggesting that substances commonly used in fat burning pills would interfere with hormonal forms of birth control. As one fat burning pill site cleverly suggested: "We have not had any such problems reported to us, but the safety of combining prescription medications and dietary supplements has to be decided by the consumer along with their health care provider."

Yours,
Jane
