Depression associated with discontiuing birth control pill?

2 months ago I discontinued birth control (Yaz) after being on the pill for over 10 years. I've recently experienced deep depression and uncontrollable crying. I've been on antidepressants for 7 plus years, so this isn't out of the blue. It just seems to have exacerbated my existing depression in the last couple weeks. Could this be a side effect of discontinuing the pill?
