Started New Birth Control Pill

Hi, last weekend I switched birth control pills. I finished my last pack of Microgestin Saturday & started a new pack of Beyaz on Sunday. I didn't take the placebo pills because I was trying to skip this period. On Tuesday of this week I started cramping (like menstrual cramps). Since then I've had some light brown spotting (just enough for thin panty liner). I'm still cramping today (Saturday) but still have only had mild spotting usually only when I wipe. Could this be a period or just my body adjusting to new pills?

When one does not take their week of placebo pills, it is not unusual that they may experiencing some cramping and spotting.
