Jane, I have been having my period since June 23. Some days are light and some days are heavy, but it has not stopped. What's going on?

While there is a tendency to classify every incident of vaginal bleeding as a menstrual period, it is important to understand that there can be other medical reasons for this bleeding that have nothing to do with menstruation.

You are not having a period for the past 2 1/2 months. You are having abnormal vaginal bleeding that is being caused by something that has nothing to do with menstruation. It is important that you get this looked into medically. Now. Your gynecologist will likely want to run some tests to try to determine the source of this abnormal bleeding.
