I have just started birth control pills 8 days ago and my period was long. I got a rash down there and thought it would have gone away. But since then, I have started with itching and burning down there. Tried Monistat and went to see my gyn yesterday because it wasn't getting better. She informed me that I had a bacterial infection and was really red and swollen. She also gave me a cream to apply. The doctor felt if I don't get better I could be allergic to the pill. I have since stopped the pill last night just so I can feel better and don't plan on re starting it. This morning I woke up to light bleeding and it is still continuning. I read with the pill that could happen, Question is, Will this stop or is it now going to be like a "period". I know my hormones are out of wake because of this. I want to feel better down there and not keep having to wear pads until it stops.

You could have the light bleeding or it could turn into a regular period. Every woman is different when coming off the pill.
