Period every two weeks

I stopped taking my birth control mid September, as my husband and I are trying to have a baby. While I was on the pill my period was very regular. Now that I have stopped taking it I am bleeding every other week and much heavier flow than I have ever had before. I am also cramping up like none other. Is this normal when someone stops taking the pill?

No, it is not. How were your menstrual periods prior to starting birth control?
