Period too long

An_248926 posted:
My periods generally last 4-5 days with only the first day being heavy. I am going on day 8. It is not a constant flow, and i can go almost a whole day with nothing, but then I will go to the bathroom and it is like I just started my period with heavy bleeding. I am having mild cramping with it, but nothing more than usual menstrual type cramps. I stopped my birth control in August, which I am not sure has anything to do with this. Should I be worried? What could have caused this all of a sudden long period? I am 33 and have never experienced this before.
