Hi Jane when I went to see my Vulver Specialist on the 26th she had done a cultere to make sure I didn't have any infection I had no symptoms well it came back Positive for Moderate Candida Torulopsis Blabrata Torgla. Found that out on wed ended up in the ER that night because pain was very bad well anyways she wated to treat it on the 10th but because of Iowa Care they stoped me from seeing her until I am seen by some GYN in Des.Moines and it won't be for four months and she was going to treat me with Purple Paint well my GYN in Mason put me on Diflucan because saturday I started showing symptoms and when I seen my PT she said the vaginal area was very very red and swollen she thought I needed to get back in with my GYN right away she also say yellow discharge well I will be taking two doses of diflucan if symptoms are no better by monday my GYN in Mason is going to re-test and give me a stronger antibiotic and or he will be testing me on the 26th but I have been having so much lower pelvic pain that my pain meds 5/500 lortab every 4hrs doesn't help so I have to keep going to the ER and getting morphine from my GYN's ARNP who also works in the ER.AHHH

Dear smjpain: My gosh, that amount of pelvic pain sounds awful! Morphine is no light weight treatment. It's unfortunate that you have both the chronic yeast (apparently one of the atypical subtypes which can be harder to treat) and the continued pelvic pain despite the total hysterectomy. One, or the other, would be enough to put most women into depression--and you have both. Are you having significant depression triggered by all this?

If so be sure and share that with your primary care person (might even be your GYN). Treating depression can sometimes improve pain levels as they can have a synergistic/building effect with each other.

Yours,
Jane
