Vaginal Odor

Hello-
I am not sure if I am posting in the correct community or not so I apologize if this is not the right place.

I have a very strong vaginal odor. It smells like ammonia/vinegar. I do not have any STD's. What could this be? It is very embarrassing and it seems as though nothing helps. I only wash with water- no soap. I don't drink a lot of water and am thinking that could be it, but am not sure.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

It could be an infection. Even virgins get infections. See your doctor.

This happens to me when I am dehydrated from just not drinking enough water. Try increasing the water intake and see if it goes away. I'll bet it does.

If not you may have an UTI and need some antibiotics.

1. Drink more water.

2. Wash with a mild soap.

3. Don't confuse urine left on underwear (which has an ammonia odor from the urea) with a vaginal odor.

The ammonia odor may be due to the presence of the urine in your underwear or panty for long period of time without changing ,while vinegar odor may gets from yeast infection during menstruated period you must change the tam every 6 - 8 hours and wash the valve with the exterior of vagina with water and soap and drink lot of water and yoghurt .

You may need to see a female gyn-ob. She will be able to help you.

I notice that too sometimes. I find rinsing the area with just a washcloth, after peeing makes me feel cleaner. Showers are the best, but you can't always take one.
