Dear An: The most likely explanation would be as follows. We tend to see an orange colored flow when the flow is lighter in volume. That scanter amount first mixes with oxygen which will make it rust or brown in color. That then turns more of an orange tint when it mixes with vaginal secretions. When a flow has an increased volume the color tends to be more like dark red.
