I had been on the pill for 10 years, came off it for 3 months and then started it again. I started my period before I hit the red section on the pill and now I am still bleeding , day 18. The last 6 days it has been lighter but dark red and thick. I went to the Dr. She said it was just my hormones from going back onto the pill. She gave me iron tablets and sent me away. I have a specialist appointment in 2 weeks but I am getting concerned!! This has never happened before. Has anyone else experienced this? What was the outcome..

I'd go back to your doctor. Bleeding for 18 days is definitely not normal.
