I've been passing blood clots while on my period; they're usually fairly big and common, but painful.
Lately, I've been passing them in between periods. What does this mean?

It means there is another medical reason that you are having abnormal vaginal bleeding and this needs to be looked into medically.

The most common reason for abnormal vaginal bleeding are uterine fibroids; benign growths in the uterus that can cause bleeding if they expand into blood vessels. However, more serious tumor issues can also can bleeding which is why it's important to get this looked into medically.
