My doctor just told me I have high cholesterol and slightly impaired kidney function. What could these possibly mean? I have hypertension that is very well controlled on clonidine and I am 170 pounds, 5'6". Someone told me it might mean diabetes. I have a lot of stress, anxiety, depression and PTSD. Just trying to give all the info that you could possibly need. Thanks for any info!!!!

It means you have extra fat in your blood (i.e., the high cholesterol) and that your high blood pressure may be doing some damage to your kidneys.

It has nothing to do with diabetes.

Drop about 30 to 40 pounds and things might improve health wise.
