Jane HELP! 45 almost two mnths no period for 2 mths
christinabcrt posted:
Hi I'm 45 yrs old and I have had female problems since I was 15. I have endometriosis and have had numerous surgeries for it. In oct of 2013 I started having a period for 18 days. I was diagnosed with a 7 cm fibroid in my uterus at the top right corner. And at the same time I was diagnosed with a 6 to 7 cm cyst on my left ovary. The cyst has debris and hemorragic flow is noted in both ovaries.

My doc did two biopsies one before the fibroid showed up and one after the fibroid both are negative. I've never had a bad PAP or cancer issues. Well I haven't had a period since 2/24/14 it lasted 4 days. I've been told by three different docs and all said hysterectomy. I don't want one I'm not ready my question is am I not having a period because of perimenapause or is it the cyst an fibroid causing me to skip periods? I do have cramps at times and breast tenderness and fatigue.

Please Help!

At age 45 you may be beginning to show the signs of perimenopause. On the other hand you may simply have skipped ovulating during the March cycle and without ovulation there will be no menstruation that month. It happens to most women at least once during their reproductive lifetime (and often more than once); no particular reason for this happening.

The symptoms of breast tenderness and cramps are symptoms that suggest menstruation will begin somewhere down the road.

Thank you for the reply I guess I should just be happy for the relief and not worry. I know that with a fibroid you can flood heavily. I did have my thyroid and hormone levels checked about 3 mths ago and they were normal.

Thanks again
