    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

I am 57 years old and still having periods. Even though i wasn't on my period last week i had been feeling "nauseous, crampy and funky" as i always do before my period. I had not started my period yet but had a terrible cramp and felt a strange feeling in my lower stomach. I went immediately to the bathroom and when i thought what i felt was the urge to urinate a huge blood clot came out. After that, no more cramping. I spotted a little bit after that but that was the end of it. Now tonight out of nowhere with no warning like i usually have , i started. What could that be?

    Any possibility of a miscarriage?

No, I don't think so. My husband is terminally ill with respiratory failure so we aren't very sexually active. We had sex one time last month. I know that's all it takes and i guess it would be possible but i really don't think so.

I still have very heavy flow and am passing generously sized clots but no cramping or pain

Please contact your gynecologists office first thing Monday morning regarding this abnormal vaginal bleeding.
