Chronic cervicitis & HPV

I was just diagnosed with mild chronic cervicitis, HPV and high grade squamous intraepithelial neoplasia. The good news is my doctor says all the margins were clear so she is pretty certain she got it all. My problem is she never mentioned anything to me about the cervicitis. I only know about it because I asked for a copy of my LEEP report.

It makes sense because I stopped taking the pill in November 2008. Right after stopping the pill I began having lower abdominal pain. I then began having spotting the week before my period. Then one time during sex I began to bleed ALOT. We were both covered in blood.

My question is - does anyone know anything about cervicitis? What are the possible causes? I have HPV but I have never been diagnosed for had symptoms of any other STD. I don't know why my doctor didn't mention this to me. I am very concered because I am TTC. We have been trying for 6 months now with no success.

If anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate any help. Thanks

I don't know that I have the answer but your story sounds an
awful lot like mine. I am still on the birth control. I will say that
I had to turn my doctor into the medical board of examiners.
She never explained this to me either. Nor did she follow the
instructions she gave me on the leep. She dropped me as a
patient mid procedure healing time. I have had to go to an
Urgent Doc twice, and the E.R. once. She cost me a lot. Now
I am reading this on web md and I am pretty livid that none of
this was properly explained to me. I have hpv, and just got
diagnosed with cervicitis. Never heard anything thing of it. My
family care physician knew what I was going through and so
did my OBGYN. Nothing was explained to me about this.
I am sorry to hear that. I let you know if I find out anything.
