My bowels have been abnormal since my hysterectomy. I tend to be either constipated or have to make a "mad dash" for the bathroom. Thankfully, I don't have to push the stool out (not yet anyway)! There's a forum on Hystersisters called "Pelvic Floor and Bladder Issues" that has many posts about bowel and bladder problems including rectocele, fistula, cystocele, incontinence, physical therapy, surgery. Hope you find the information and support you need.

This is happening to me as well. It is so uncomfortable so I can greatly sympathize! I started taking an over the counter type of Mirlax, or store brand with the same ingredients and it has helped. I still have to place my fingers (called splinting) and push up on the skin behind my vagina. My doctor said that since the uterus is not there any longer there is nothing to hold the bladder in place and that in my case the wall of my vagina as well as the "other" may have prolapsed. Terrible pain, bleeding vaginally, and heavy feeling that only lying down helps. I am wondering what happened to me too, it's been 5 years since my surgery however the stool issue happened soon after.
