Am I supposed to walk on eggshells for the rest of my seemed to be numbered days? When can I walk and how far? Is Viagra out of the question? What kind of substitutes are there? Is every ache and pain I have related to my stint placement? When can I eat something that is not fish or taste like tree bark? Have people live long productive lives after having a stent implanted? Do I apply for SSI disability benefits? SORRY SO MANY QUESTIONS, BUT THIS HAS TURNED MY LIFE TOTALLY UPSIDE DOWN! Any info appreciated.....

Is this also your post? http://forums.webmd.com/3/heart-disease-exchange/forum/4199

I am assuming that it is.

First your need to ask your doctor about the details of your MI. And what blockages where found and stented? And how much, if an damage was done to the heart?

And ask if their is going to be a stress test done in a few weeks. That helps with determine how much "work" you can do without problems.

And ask for a referral to a Cardiac Rehab program.

In cardiac rehab you will do progressive exercises while being monitored by medical professionals. It will help give you confidence. And you will be doing it with others that have going through similar.

And in addition to the exercise there will be classes in things like diet, medicines, and even having sex.

AND YES, MOST PEOPLE CAN GO ON TO LIVE A FULL AND ACTIVE LIFE.

Now I did not have a heart attack, but did have a triple bypass and went on a 35 mile bike ride today. And I know people who have had MI and run marathons.

As for a diet. Look into the Mediterranean diet. There are lots of healthy and tasty foods.
