Getting back in the groove

Well, I'm not back to daily exercise, but closer than a few months ago. Work is horrendous, not getting my usual walking breaks there, and beign a touch lazy at home. My easy days on the exercycle are what is mostly skipped. I should be on the rowing machine once or twice a week, but it is more like once or not at all, mostly usign the treadmill or doign bench step ups. On the treadmill, I am using the weight vest consistently now for 20-30 minutes.

Being busy at work, I am getting less of my healthy snacks: pistachios, green tea, dried blueberries or cherries, dark chocolate. Where I would have two of these per day, not it is almost always tea or forget everything else. Oh, well.

All this shows up now in that pretty much every day I am getting a little discomfort on the treadmill, and use my nitro spray to relieve it. Two cardiologists thought this a good idea, not waiting for a heart attack to use it.

My cardiac heart rate recovery is not quite as good as a year ago. Used to be about 15 the first minute, 38 after two. Now I am more like 11 and 28. But my heart rate is not as high, so it may have less room to drop easily.

I'm also more distracted from rehab. At least work is fun if on a heavy schedule. A new co-worker is a blast. Very bright, outshines me, yet is so helpful, willing to get into anything, and do it well. That reduces stress on the project. More than one person has commented on how calm and unflustered I am. They are surprised I haven't had a heart attack.
