    Life expectancy in Japan

    josvin84 posted:
Last month there was an article in the news about 40000 centenarians on record in Japan who may actually have died years ago but were never registered by family so that they could continue receiving pensions.

Now the total has gone upto 230,000.

If this is true (and it is) then life expectancy in Japan is much lower than we have been told over the last thirty to forty years.

    Hi josvin,

I've always wondered why the Japanese did so well, where the traditional Japanese diet had 10g sodium (10,000 mg Sodium).

    Best regards, EngineerGuy

I never connected long life expectancy to high pensions but now I think about it you may be right.
Maybe some research student could verify this obvious relationship.
