    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Hi folks,

Onions prevent cancer !! I've previously posted about Mushrooms preventing cancer. Here's some references.

Dr. Fuhrman recommends we eat a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts and seeds. Add whole grains to fill in calories, as needed. Meat and animal products may be added, up to 10% of calories, if desired, and if you are meeting your health goals.

    Best regards, EngineerGuy

Onions also have quercitin, a heart and vessel beneficial substance.

"An investigated flavonoid, quercetin, is reviewed in this article. Quercetin is a bioflavonoid found in red wine, grapefruit, onions, apples, black tea, and, in lesser amounts, in leafy green vegetables and beans. Quercetin has an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity and prevents cancer."

Anti-inflammatory means it helps us heal from everything, as does exercise by skeletal muscle production of interleukins.

Hmm. Maybe I or someone else among the good guys here will open a private exchange, and invite those to give their home e-mails addresses encourage greater real camaraderie.
