    Dr Daniel Amen Brain Health
    engineerguy posted:
    Hi folks,

I just caught the PBS fund raiser by Dr. Daniel Amen, for helping you get a more youthful brain. Did you catch the diet he recommended? In the PBS special, he did not mention Dr. Fuhrman, but it is our diet !!

Dr. Amen made a brain scan of himself, a few years ago, and was shocked to see that he had an old brain, older than his years!! He said he was 30 pounds overweight, and slugging down diet colas.

Now he has regained a youthful brain. This is very impressive and inspirational.

For my birthday, my wife said lets have some ice cream and cake; a big cheat. I said why don't you find another great delicious recipe that is perfect on the diet, that we love. OK, I admit it, I didn't take much convincing at all. We ate ourselves sick on ice cream and cake for my birthday. Then we saw Dr. Amen's special. Now my wife says, for her birthday, she's going to look for a recipe perfect on the diet, that we love!!

In other words, Dr.Amen's work is motivational !!

    Hi jc,

No, I didn't catch what the best sport is for brain health. You got me hooked. What is it?

    Did he say brisk walking?

I first saw his special about 3-4 yrs ago on brain health. He said table tennis was the best single activity for brain health and that scans and other evidence had shown this.So I went down to a local church gym joined and started playing with a group of about 50 or so retired seniors that play every day.Later in the day(after school) and at night a younger group of teens and younger adults join in.It has helped with back problems and vision and my memory seems marginally better.

I have his brain health special taped.I also have Fuhrmans PBS special taped.
