First I would find another doctor. Read everything you can find so you can make your own educated decisions. I have links posted here on this site. Just because you have Hep C does not mean you have to treat now or even need to or that you are soon to die. I am geno 1A & have known I have Hep C for 8 years. 57 year old male. My viral load has been as high as 17 million. Those numbers just like your liver counts go up & down. I have not treated to date & am still working & active. Try & eat right. AVOID alcohol DON'T DRINK. It's like throwing gasoline on a fire. I take a multiple vitamin without iron ( Centrim Silver ) there are generic brands that are cheaper. I take a vitamin C daily & Maximum Milk Thistle. That's what I do. Here are some links:

I agree, I am 59 year old female, diagnosed in 2007 with type 2B. Didn't know I had anything, but found out on a random liver function test. I have no symptoms, work 7 days a week, hold down 2 jobs for the past 10 years. I refused treatment at this time as I cannot afford to be sick.(does that sound completely insane) sorry. I also take a good multi-vitamin and stay away from alcohol. Avoid Tylenol in any quantity, One now and then is no problem. Am I wrong to not take the treatment offered? My physician told me many people have Hep C and don't even know it.

3 out of 4 people have hep c and don't know it. I've had it 35 years and feel fine. My liver enzymes are fine, and I have no symptoms, though my viral load is almost 3 million. I don't touch alcohol and just t low dose (325) tylenol if needed. My doctor said there may be some good in taking Milk Thistle, and a friends mother has had it for years and has only taken Milk Thistle. Her doctor said that's probably why she's still alive. My friend who has taken the treatment looks like a skelaton and has NO appetite. I just don't know. I'm hoping for a cure that doesn't make you sick as a dog, and I think it will happen in 3 years or less. I'm waiting for that. I have heard that the new treatment isn't as bad, and has a cure rate of up to 80% but it's still in trial phase. There ya go, join a trial for hep c, type A. Free meds and care. Try that!
