    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

I was just diagnosed with hep c last week. I had a biopsy about 2 weeks ago.. it concluded chronic hepatitis with mild focal fibrosis. Then after that I had a office visit they had me do blood work it showed hep c. so I am currently awaiting my other blood test it was for genotype. It should be in Friday. im having a whole range of emotions! im supposed to be starting treatments in 6 weeks, I have to get on 2 forms of birthcontrol & have clearance from a psychiatrist stating I am stable enough, she said it would depend on my genotype whether or not I would have the triple treatment, she said if it was 1a that's the road we would take. im scared of the treatments ive always heard horror stories can any one tell me there experiences with treatment... good & bad I want to know what Im getting myself into. thanks!

I was just diagnosed last week too --- I have not had the biopsy yet - I see a specialist next Wednesday, I'm extremely nervous I heard the biopsy was a painful procedure . I can handle the pain - I've had two back surgery , that didnt go well . I actually believe I got this for the pain center where I go to get epidural shots , If you find out anything please let me know too - this is foreign territory for me .

Hi. I am just starting my 9th week. The liver biopsy was absolutely painless. The give you a little something and I slept through it. Then you have to lay down for a few hours to protect you liver from bleeding. Don't let that worry you. Good luck.
