    hep c chances from husband
    An_252899 posted:
okay just to clarify i thught i would ask for some opinions on if i could catch hep c from my husband.

years back had many sexual partners i also have a few tatts, since meeting my hubby ten years ago i have stds including hep c tested when i have my pap tests done one of those things where i panicked from past encounters.

allhave been clear, i havent been tested again for about two and a half years as my doctor said its o longer an issue i am more then clean.

in the past year and a half i have had night muscle pain, headaches, hot flushes at night, sweats, tum pain, itching skin, sever nausea, i am exhasted like there is no tomorrow but find it very hard to sleep it takes ages to doze off and i wake many times through the night, i get gland pain in my groin , arm pits, breasts and behind my ears/neck and my nose runs constant. get full easy and have sever pain after eating okay there is a run down of most my symptoms.

so to cut a lng story short i went to doctor after doctor to find out whats wrong, 6 months ago i was told inhave scar tissue on my liver and my iron levels were through the roof and the doctor left it at that and said its just a virus. she asked what iron supplements i was on because it was through the roof and asked me stop funny thing was iwas on no iron supplements at the time and hadnt been in years.

so i dulled down all iron intake 6months on i am fed up with feeling sick and tired have gone to get another opinion from a new fresh doctor. my iron is now low, i thoght it may be early menapause as i am only 32years of age but the symptoms fit.

turns out me hormones are perfect no menapouse here but she said my liver function does not look good she made a passing comment that my levels are very common with someone with hep c. i am booked in for another scan of my liver and no follow up for a few weeks time.. the comment was such a small thing in lassing that ididnt mention it to my husband who that night searched liver function in the morning he pikes up that he thinks i have hep c ( so much for saying to never self diagnose over the net)

my reply was if i do i got it from you. his response was no way i am healthy and he said even if he has it he has never been sick so its dormant and and cant be passed on.

now know i amjumping the gun as i havent been diagnosed yet i know its not a death sentence but its truly freakjng me out i am awaiting the doc to call back as i wish to pick up a blood form and be tested asap as its got my head in a real spin i dont know why but truly freaking out here. (think i am more in a panick that if it is it i could have passed it too my children and that scares the crap out of me)

so i ask i didnt have hep c for years after meeting him i assume i am correct that i couldnt pick it up of a toilet seat lol hence the sarcasm there.

my husband went through a severe porn addiciton period a couple years back where he started treating me as a piece of meat in the bedroom sad but true (i say severe because it was 5hours a day anger if he couldnt use his computer and he was a total arsehole during this period of our relationship. (just popped that in to avoid anyone stating oh a prude blah blah)

so during this time sex between us was rough and i mean rough even if i said no to soemthing he got it so we ended up with a lot of anal sex at the time that cause me severe bleeding most time (yep not a gentleman here)

so i ask if he say did have hep c and it is what he classed as dorman can he pass it on this way, what would the chances be. he said no way at all and looked at me like i was a nut bag for even saying it. but having said that he too had many sexual partners before me and never got tested for anything stating he was clean.

any advice or info would be appreciated again yes i know i am jumping the gun but its swirling i my head the need to clarify this.

Diagnosed Non A/Non B ~1983 caused by blood transfusions following a car wreck 1968, HepC ~2002 Unable to complete either of 2 treatment options. No further abnormal labs (blood work), no complications, all liver enzymes within normal limits. Married for 49 yrs. Husband has never had any cause to think he might be infected. No abnormal labs, nothing to indicate HepC ever. Was told by medical professional that very unlikely I'd give it to him. Since it's been 45 yrs come this Dec. don't anticipate my hubby will come down with it. Please do follow up on this with a MD or other medical person to make sure. Your husband would do well to get checked out I would think. It would be good for both of you to know for sure. Hope all works out for you. God bless.

A P.S. to my earlier reply... although my husband has never had anything to indicate he might have HepC, he had to stop giving blood because of my having it or so he was told by the Blood Bank folks. Bummer. He used to be a blood donor on a regular basis.
