Tough day

I am here today , maybe to vent, maybe to find some solace, maybe just to distract from the day after pegasys. I can't help but feel like I am the virus. My wife if frightened about any accidental contamination constantly, even with the most bizzarre hypothetical situations , even tho we know it has to be blood to blood.
I cant tell anyone why I take Pegasys (I have to say it is chemo and I don't think it is chemo) because I know I will be shunned, and the feeling of someone I love recoiling from my hug is unbearable. I hate lying and that is what I am doing.
My job is hazardous and we cut bruise and bleed a lot. I have isolated myself from the others ,(paper towels to wash , band-aids , and my own scrub brush) but still fear that accidental contamination. My boss is not a bad guy or anything but is a knee-jerk kinda guy, and would problably find a reason to let me go if he knew.
I feel alone and adrift , If it wasn't for prayer I think I would feel hopeless. I have been sick for years with tumors and finally was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, cured,Only having to see the neurosurgeon once a year and financially recovering, to a degree. Now my medicine costs have doubled , Truthfully I don't know how I got this, and right now I don't care. I just want my life back. It would be nice to "see" another human being, with the same diagnosis as me just so I know I am not alone. Online helps some ,but we are all anonymous. Thanks for listening. I know things will look better in the morning.

Hi. I believe Interferon is a form of chemo and is used to battle many different cancers. Therefore you are not lying, just not telling the whole truth so to speak. People tend to panic when they hear the word hepatitis. It's their ignorance that makes them afraid. I only tell people of my infection if they "need to know". Not many need to.. You are not obligated by law (at least in NY State) to report your infection to your employer. Everyone, no matter what their employment is, should have the proper protection (gloves, bandages and bleach) provided by their employer.

How is treatment going? How far along are you and how far to go? I hear that drinking lots water will help with the sides. Good luck to you.

Hang in there with the prayer. Sometimes all we have is God, family, friends. You are in my prayers.
