    Shingles vaccine
    An_239275 posted:
Is it safe for a person with hep c to get the shingles shot? If not what are the complications?
    Melissa Palmer, MD responded:
There are no contraindications for a person with HCV to get the shingles vaccine. However if your neutrophil count ( a subset of the white blood cells) is under 750, for any reason, such as due to interferon treatment, vaccination should be delayed. Your doctor can determine your neutrophil count through a blood test.
