Last saturday (27.05.2012) , I had a sexual encounter with my girl friend.
During course, i found my condom broken.
this is the first time something condom broken happened.
I am not aware about her HIV status as she stays ouside & this time I met her after 1 year or so.
From 29th instant i am feeling body pain, sorethroat as well as body general weakness
What are the probability of contacting virus.
Also I am saxually active person but always use proper condom.

I am afraid and under great stress that could not sleep properly from last 2 days. What should be my observation for future. pl guide properly the chances?

Your risk of transmission of HIV would, of course, depend on the status of the girlfriend. However, the first stage of HIV (called ARS) with flu like symptoms occurs two to six weeks after transmission, not less than 2 full days later.

It is, therefore, quite likely that your general weakness and sore throat are due more to lack of sleep worrying over this issue than anything else.

Have you considered asking the girlfriend to get tested? If she tests negative she, of course, cannot pass this virus onto you as she does not have it.
