Regarding accuracy of Oraquick HIV at home test

Hi Gail,

I had an unprotected sex 3 years back with my ex girlfriend and have been in an monogomous relationship since past 8 months. My current girlfriend and I have taken 3 oraquick at home test and the last one was in May, 2013. All the tests came back negative for both of us. Can I be 100% confident that we both are HIV negative?

I read some doubts on the accuracy of the Oraquick at home HIV test result. Do we need to take a blood test?

Thanks in Advance

No; there is no need for a blood test. These three tests have clearly shown that both you and your current girlfriend are HIV negative. As long as you two remain in a monogamous relationship no further testing is indicated.
