How long do HIV survive in Semen

I have a question. Why is there such conflicting report about how HIV survive outside the body in semen. There one report that HIV dies when the semen dried up. Then there other report that it dies instantly in semen when it hit the air? Which is true?

The virus is dead when the medium it is in (i.e., blood, sexual fluids) is dried.

So if it isn't dead until it is dry, then is it able to infect until dry? Ineedsomehelp brings up a good question! I have read countless statements that state that once exposed to the environment hiv is unable to infect! That is where this gets confusing. Is it not able to infect once dry, or when it is still wet, but exposed to the environment?
