I was just diagnosed with high blood pressure approx. 2 weeks ago. I was started on Lisinopril 10mg daily. I have been on it 6 days now. Can you tell me how long before this drug will work? My BP is still about 150/80 right now. Thanks

In general BP meds can take from 1 to 30 days.

I am not sure about lisinopril, but I think that it should have some effect in 2 weeks.

If you don't see a drop in 2 weeks call your doctor's office and ask to speak to his nurse. Ask if you should come in for an adjustment in meds or wait some more.
