    my wife has a terrible persistent cough on the backside of a cold. She also takes blood pressure medication. Is there a cough suppressant that is safe?

    Some blood pressure medications actually cause a cough; sometimes, a terrible cough. It would be worth checking the side effects of whatever medication she's taking.
