High blood pressure and thyroid problems

Wondering if anyone has heard of having a thyroid condition causing high blood pressure? Spoke with a health food specialist and they suggested that when your thyroid is not working properly it could impact blood pressure and other hormone levels. Was thinking of seeing an endocrinologist for further testing. Any thoughts?
