I am a 44 year old man in good shape. Over the past year I have lost 30 pounds and been going to the gym 4 times per week. I was at the gym on a treadmill about two months ago when I first noticed a heart flutter.This happened several times so I went to my DR. I am 5'8. I was 237 lbs a year and a half ago with BP of 144/84. Last week at 207 lbs my BP was 170/100. Had extensive blood work done and it all came back perfect. Cholesterol was 177. Stress I guess? So, extremely obese me was healthier than less obese me. I started taking Lisinopril (10mg) last week. It works well but only has my BP down around 155/90. I do not seem to have side effects from the 10mg. Does anyone take a higher dosage?

I was originally started on 20 mg and HCTZ. When then it was upped to 40 mg.

I am now on 10 mg and no HCTZ and could probably drop it to 5.

There are other reasons for high BP, but keeping on with the exercise and weight lose will help you health in any case.
