I've been diagnosed w/IBS. I love to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole wheat bread, and coffee/tea. My doctor said my food choices may be contributing to my problem and I start on the Atkins diet. This is like changing religions, it is so opposite of the way I've been eating all my life.

Has anyone else done the Atkins diet, and has it helped treat the symptoms of IBS?

I have had IBS for 5 years now and I cant do the Atkins Diet, take multivitamins, drink milk, or diet anything. Ive learned over the years to control it. The gastro dr. put me on a cholesterol medicine (Colestipol) and it works wonders. That with dicyclomine, and watching my diet, I pretty much have eliminated my problems. But if I were you, you could try the diet but I would be careful if you start to see symptoms. I hope I helped you.
