I just looked it up and Dr Mark Pimentel has decided that all IBS is really just SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). This has already been disproved. While there are people who have been misdiagnosed with IBS when they really have SIBO, it's not true of everyone.

I concur with Sheba_q's comment. SIBO appears to be one of the problems that may be labeled or result in IBS, but it's not the only component. It would be wonderful if it were that 'easy,' but unfortunately it's not.
