Painful bowel movement

I have been constipated for the past few days, and now when I try to go it's too painful- as if it's too big.
It's excruciating pain and I just can't do it. It's happened twice before and it took everything I had to not pass out. I can't go through that again.
Is there some sort of suppository I could take to break it up? I've tried Vasolene but that did not help at all.
I really don't feel I need a laxative, because it's ready to pass and a stool softener wouldn't really help at this point either.
Help! I'm starting to cramp! I can't really afford to see a doctor right now.
