This actually is not a new idea, but it is the first time I have seen it in a reputable source. Basically, what we eat affects our moods. Yes, I know that seems too simple, but that is what it is saying. The bacteria that develops in our guts, as the result of our diet, has some sort of affect on our minds.

Whoa are they saying food can make you crazy?

I also wonder if they are also saying that we can think ourselves into a tummy ache? That would be something new!

What we eat does affect how we feel. We hate to admit that it could be that simple, but think about it. When our bodies are suffering we can't help but feel bad mentally. We're afraid to leave the house! The pain is unbearable.
I have been suffering with IBS symptoms for years and only recently (in the last six months) have found treatments. At a doctor's suggestion I have been taking metamucil twice a day and a probiotics once a day. These two things make all the difference in the world. I used to have attacks every other week, but now it happens rarely-usually when I forget to take the probiotics.
Stress is the main culprit as far as I'm concerned. I have tried elimination diets and nothing really matters. I am a worry wart! I want to change this, but habits are hard to break.
