    Miscarriage

I had an unplanned pregnancy Nov 2011. Right after Xmas, (just before 10 weeks along) I had small pains in my stomach and a spot of blood so I went to the ER where I was told I was having twins and neither 1 had a heartbeat. I had a D&C in January which left me in deep emotional and physical pain.
I had another unplanned pregnancy Sept 2012 with another man. Right before Xmas I had my 1st ultrasound at exactly 10 weeks (my OG/GYN doesn't take any patients before 10 weeks). I had no symptoms to warn me this time and I was again devastated to learn that there was no heartbeat. I had a D&C later that week.

I asked my Dr why this happened twice. She said she most miscarriages occur because the fetus wasn't developing properly due to a chromosome problem of some sort. She said the 2nd one may have occurred because my body hadn't healed from the 1st yet. She told me that usually they would be concerned after 2 miscarriages but it was a different circumstance since the fathers were different. I don't understand why that matters though. She told me to wait at least 2 years, take prenals for 3 months prior to conception and then if I miscarry she would refer me to a specialist.
I don't want to go through the physical and psychological pain again before seeing someone who can help. I want to be preventative.
(In case you're wondering why I went to this Dr: there is only 1 hospital, 2 Drs, that deliver in my county- 1 Dr is the fore-mentioned OB/GYN, the other pushes for Csections)
I saw a Dr at Family Planning later and told her the story; she ordered blood work. The only things I know that were checked were thyroid (normal) and cholesterol (a little high). She said she couldn't find any reason based on the results she got for my miscarriages.

My family and friends had a bunch of input and possible reasons:
my grandma had several miscarriages; her Dr said it was related to her blood type, then she received a shot and was able to carry 5 healthy babies. (The Family Planning Dr said that I don't have it because I'm O+)
One of my aunts is unable to absorb vitamins and nutrients correctly. I felt sick every day that I took a prenatal.
    heavy lifting (for the 1st)
    stress
drinking the first few weeks I didn't know I was pregnant
my weight: I was about 150 for each pregnancy (I'm only 5'2 tho). I generally eat what I want but do fad diets. I instantly ate healthier when I found out I was pregnant both times. However I gained 10 lbs in 10 weeks for each pregnancy. Generally I'm lightly active but the 1st pregnancy I did increased activity by walking and light aerobics; the 2nd time I was so scared to have another miscarriage I refrained from doing practically anything.
being on the birth control pill too long causing hormone imbalance (I was on Orthotricyclin Lo from 2005-2011; I stopped because my body felt off-balance. After the 1st pregnancy I went back on; but stopped for the same reasons as before. After the 2nd pregnancy, I went onto Junel Fe; I'm still taking it but I would prefer not to.
I have depression and the 1st father is bipolar, the 2nd has anxiety (I am not on medication)

I want to have children (2 preferably) but the mourning process alone is inexplicably painful. I will prepare and plan and take all precautions to succeed in my next attempt. If I do not succeed , my boyfriend has agreed to a vasectomy so I can go off the pill and don't have to get my tubes tied

What steps should I take to prepare for my next pregnancy?/What tests should be done, if any? /When should I start and stop the birth control pill and prenatals?
I can't lose weight on my birth control and I am obese according to BMI; how can I lose the weight before I conceive?
How can I get my Dr to see me sooner than 10 weeks?
What questions should I be asking my Dr?
