I know I shouldn't be worried yet because I am still young. But I have had 5 different doctors tell me I can't have babies. I was first told when I was 15. I started taking birth control when I was 15 to help regulate my cycle and help get rid of my ovarian cyst which was in 2004. I stopped taking birth control in November 2012. Now up until recently all of the doctors I have seen have told me I can't have babies so I have believed them. Now I have two doctors that tell me I can have babies. I am trying to believe that. I have heard that when some women believe they are pregnant and are not their bodies can still show symptoms. Is it possible that because I have believed the other doctors that I can't have babies could my body believe it? If so, is there a way to make my body go back to believing I can have babies?

Also my fiance and I have started trying to start a family back in March. Is it also possible that the birth control is still in my body? And that is why we haven't conceived yet?

angi1989, there could be so many more factors involved. What was the reason you were told you were unable to have children? Why are you getting a different answer now? How long have you been trying? Have you been charting your cycles? They say that it can take up to a year after stopping birth control to get pregnant. You may want to get your fianc? tested also. Good luck!!

I never got a straight answer on why doctors said I couldn't have children. I actually had one doctor say "ever had an accident and wonder why you didn't get pregnant, well don't worry you can't" But that was all I got.(I have never had an "accident" I have always had protection until my fiance) I got sick of doctors saying that you can't have children but not giving me answers so I went to a new doctor. She said that everything is in working order so she didn't understand why in my previous records it stated my ovaries weren't working. In 2011 I ended up in the hospital for ovarian cyst there was talk about removing my ovaries to get rid of the cyst totally. But the doctor stated he only wanted to do that as a last option. He told me as well everything was functioning properly. We initially started in November when I stopped taking my bc. I have been charting my cycles for the last 5 months. I usually begin my cycle the day before scheduled or the day after never on the day. We have discussed having him tested. And thank you
