Partial hystarectomy
An_254928 posted:
I have a question I want to know if I had a partial hystrarectomy if my body is still producing eggs. I want a surrgate to carry a baby for me but my eggs.
David K Walmer, MD, PhD responded:
The term partial hysterectomy is sometimes used to mean that the ovaries were not removed and sometimes to mean that the cervix (lower portion of the uterus) was not removed. You need to ask your doctor if you still have your ovaries. If you do, you should make an appointment with a fertility specialist to learn more about 1) your chances of success and 2) what is involved in trying to have a child using a gestational carrier. Good luck!
