What does the egg white like discharge mean?

I am 21 and my husband and i have been trying to conceive for a while. I have an account at mymonthlycycles.com and it says that i should have ovulated sometime friday or sat of last week. It is now monday. Sunday morning i woke up with that thick clear stretchy discharge. That night my husband and i had intercourse which was a bit painful. And today i am cramping a little. Can anyone explain this? I'd like to know if i need to try to conceive right after that discharge happens or if by the time it happens it's already too late to try. Any info will help.

I found a website that if you chart your cycles came in extra handy. It's fertilityfriend.com and according to it the think clear what they call "egg white" cervical mucus comes about 24 hours before you ovulate. Check out the site. Hope it helps.
