Wondering if anyone else has been on Letrozole
    Shellyf33 posted:
Did one round of Clomid and produced 3 follicle. Well Clomid wasn't right for me because thinned out the Lining of my Uterus. They thought I still may be able to get pregnant and I thought there was hope when my AF was 4 days late but nope it came on the fifth day. I was so dissappointed but shouldn't have expected anything less. Now she prescribed me Letrozole. Just wondering if anyone else has taken it and what kind of side effects you have had and if anyone has had success. Please share with me. Thanks Shelly

Hello, Shelly! Some people may not know that Letrozole is the generic for Femara. Hopefully someone will chime in with their experience.

I took brand name Femara this month for my IUI round. I took 2.5 mg once daily on days 3-7 of my cycle. I had no side effects, which was pretty awesome. It helped me get 4 mature folicles on day 10, which was my ultrasound. We did a trigger shot on day 12 and an IUI on day 14. I'm still in the 2ww so I don't know if we were successful, but I was very pleased with the Femara. If I run out of the brand name pills, I will try the generic.

One weird thing is that I got a sunburn while on this medicine. I know that some meds make it easier for you to burn, but I'm pretty fair skinned so this may have nothing to do with it. My doctor didn't put me on Clomid because he's seen some pretty nasty side effects from it so if your doctor wants you to try it, it may work great for you. Let us know how it goes!
