I posted in another forum, but still pretty angry. My obgyn told me at my annual exam that if the high risk preg specialist cleared me to get preg, and take clomid, then HE would call in the prescription.

I should point out that I have epilepsy, under control now due to meds, and a brian surgery 4yrs ago. Its been at least 4yrs since any siezures. I also should mention I had Gastric Bypass 3yrs ago...I lost 100lbs, and went from 340 to 241. Before you get all crazy you should know that I am 6'3 and yes im a 31yr old female.

So MY Ob sent me to specialist...and she cleared me for meds, and to get preggers. NOW my OB is saying I need to lose 20lbs.....before he will prescribe....Seriously!? last month you said if specialist says ok....then your your not? I get the feeling I was sent to this specialist because in his mind he didnt think she would clear me. I feel lied to! Im ready to tell the OB to lose 20lbs and then maybe I will consider trusting you again! Seriously!

Sorry about the issues you are having. Have you thought about switching docs? My doc keeps telling me to lose weight. I have pcos and I do need to lose. I have lost 15lbs recently and he said good...lose more. However, he is still treating me.

Maybe if you saw a different doc it would help things along. Good luck!

Hey Princessjj05, I completely agree with KittyKatJenn. You may want to think about switching doctors.

Remember, your doctor works for you. You deserve to be treated with respect.

When I saw a new OB/GYN for the first time last year, he referred me to a RE immediately. He said that since I was 34, he wanted me to be agressive in my TTC treatment .He didn't want to waste time just trying things, but to get me tested and form a plan so that we can get results. This meant a lot to me to have him say this because I did get a specialist and we're into our second IUI attempt now, with plans to move to IVF if necesarry. Don't wait to find another doctor.

Congratulations on your weight loss, and on getting through all your other health issues- you sound like a real fighter! I hope you find a new doctor who is going to treat you right!
    princessjj05 replied to kerrymh's response:
THANKS KERRY....NEW dr was good. Funny SHE seemed to think my other dr was crazy for not giving me clomid...her words: "Weight really isnt a reason NOT to give it, weight means more complications, and chances for high risk but shouldnt be deciding factor in giving the drug." We are doing an infertility work up, today went in did a blood test, and then comes the FUN <--- (notice the sarcasim there,) HSG test..
